Andover Boy's Cross Country Team Qualifies to State Finals for 1st Time in 16 Years!

Last Friday, the Andover Boy's cross country team accomplished something that hadn't been done by an AHS boy's cc team in 16 years.....they advanced to the Michigan State Cross Country Finals which will be held at Michigan International Speedway this coming weekend!! The boys were led by Senior Joey Kemeny who earned All Region honors for a 2nd time placing 3rd in the Region. Joey ran an outstanding time of 16:24 which ranks him as the 6th fastest boy's runner in Andover's history on the AHS Top 10 Fastest 5K Times board. Also earning All Region status was Senior Charlie Ailsworth who finished 10th. Rounding out scoring for the Barons was Senior Sean Evans, Freshman Bryce Sinclair, and Sophomore Mikey Kemeny. Junior Mackenzie Gammons qualified on the girl's side finishing 3rd and earning All Region honors for a 3rd consecutive year. Mackenzie, who was already on the record board at Andover, moved into 3rd place with a time of 18:57!! Great job to everyone and best of luck this weekend at State Finals!!
