Meet Heidi, a mini dachshund with a big heart.

“I’m about 8 years old and, ok, maybe a smidge overweight; but I’m in good health,” confides Heidi. “I guess you could say I’m just a great lap dog looking for a great new home!”

Take one look into those chocolate brown eyes---your heart is sure to melt.

Heidi would prefer to live with adults, as she has spent her entire life with an elderly couple in the Livonia/Redford area.

This couple, who will be entering an assisted living facility soon, is now faced with the heartbreaking realization that they must give up their beloved Heidi.

But they know she is going to make someone a loyal, loving companion.
