Avondale School District Announces School Board Officers for 2012

The Avondale School District, an achievement-oriented learning community focused on student leadership and success in academics, the arts and athletics, announces that the Avondale Board of Education nominated and elected the following officers for 2012 at the January 9, 2012 School Board meeting:
- President – Sid Lockhart
- Vice President – Sean Johnson
- Secretary – Stephen Sucher
- Treasurer – Scott Bittinger
- Trustee – Ken Hedrick
- Trustee – Cyndi Pettit
- Trustee – Cynthia Tischer
In addition to the election of officers, January as School Board Recognition Month was noted by Avondale Superintendent George Heitsch, Ed.D., who thanked immediate past president, Cyndi Pettit, for her contributions, welcomed new board member Scott Bittinger and expressed thanks for those continuing with the board in 2012.
“We are truly fortunate to have the support and wisdom of our dedicated Board members,” acknowledged Dr. Heitsch. “The time and energy required to serve our students, especially in the current economic environment, is greater than many anticipated when becoming Board members. Their stewardship is appreciated by all.”
