Bloomfield Township Hosts Emergency Training Exercise
Bloomfield Township government will conduct an emergency management training exercise from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, June 26.
The scenario will demonstrate the township's response to the rupture of the Sun Oil pipeline, which carries oil underground from Franklin Road to Long Lake Road, and Long Lake to Square Lake Road, and Square Lake through to Troy.
Local media are invited to attend and participate in the annual exercise at the Township’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in the lower level of the Department of Public Services building on the township's municipal campus. Come back to Patch further coverage tomorrow.
Members of every Bloomfield Township department will be participate, as will representatives from Sunoco’s logistical team, the Salvation Army, Red Cross, Consumers Power, DTE, HazMat, Oakway Technical Rescue, the Michigan State Police Emergency Management Homeland Security office, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and Environmental Protection Agency.
