Charity Week Continues at Andover, Lahser

Charity week in the Bloomfield Hills Schools is under way.

The student leaders of Andover and Lahser high schools are sponsoring several events at both schools May 20 through May 25 to benefit Teach for America in Detroit. The organization is comprised of leaders who work to ensure that kids growing up in poverty get an excellent education.

The two high schools have set a collective goal to raise a total of $15,000. Here's the schedule:

Monday, May 21: Blood Drive from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the Andover High School Fieldhouse; Jail-n-Bail during the school day, $15 for 30 minutes.

Tuesday, May 22: All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast during 2nd hour, $5 donation; Hypnotist Assembly during 6th hour, $3 donation.

Wednesday, May 23: Ice Cream Social during 7th hour, $3 donation; Andover Junior vs. Senior Powder Puff Football at 7 p.m., admission $5, tailgate 6 p.m.

Thursday, May 24: Charity Week BBQ during both A & B lunches, $5 donation (cash only); Charity Week Carnival during 4th and 6th hour on the football field, $5 admission. Concessions available.

Friday, May 25: Half Day— hours 1, 3, 5, & 7; Incoming 9th Grade Visitation.
