DCDS Wins Division 3 Boys' Varsity Tennis Title

The Detroit Country Day Yellowjackets dominated play in winning their second straight state championship in boys' tennis, their third in the last four years, and the 13th state boys tennis championship in school history on Saturday.  The Yellowjackets earned 39 out of a possible 40 points in the Division 3 tournament that took place in Holland and Grand Rapids, defeating second place St. Joseph and third place Cranbrook-Kingswood.  The Yellowjackets were the top-ranked team in Division 3 and the state of Michigan throughout the season, and went undefeated during the season.  The Yellowjackets defeated the champions of the other three divisions during the regular season.

State championships were won by Max Fliegner (1 singles), Captain Sven Kranz (2 singles), Rishi Patel (3 singles), Captain Alex Gruskin and Patrick Adams (1 doubles), Lorenz Gahn and Max Lee (2 doubles), Blake Burstein and Rishabh Nayak (3 doubles), and Matt Stebbins and D.J. Bailey (4 doubles). Runner-up at 4 singles was Max Shanbrom.
