The Andover and Lahser volleyball teams will face each other tonight, Thursday, Oct. 18th at Lahser and together, present Volley For A Cure. Freshman teams will play at 4:30, JV at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:00 pm. This is a fundraiser to benefit the McLaren Riley Foundation's SISTER & SISTER Progra. This non-profit organization promotes breast cancer awareness throught the community while facilitaing mammogram screenings for uninsured, at-risk or low-income women in Oakland County. Pink t-shirts are $10.00 each and are being sold at the middle and high schools in the district. Wearing it gets you free admission to the event. Otherwise it is $5.00 at the door. Gift baskets will be raffled off, with proceeds going to the McLaren Riley Foundation. Some items that will be raffled off are a family membership to Bloomfield Tennis, Detroit Lions tickets, MSU and Michigan baskets and amazing baskets donated by the Lahser fall sports teams. This will be a particularly special night as this will be the final volleyball game between the two schools before they unite as Bloomfield Hills High School in the fall of 2013. Come out, wear pink, and support this great cause and event!!!
