Oakland Integrated Healthcare Network (OIHN) has opened its third site, offering primary care and mental health services at the Oakland Family Services office on Orchard Lake Road in Pontiac. OIHN is a non-profit organization that provides affordable, coordinated healthcare services for the community. 

“There is a great need for quality, integrated health services in the Oakland County area, and we are thrilled that Oakland Family Services is offering their Orchard Lake Road office as an additional location for care,” says Robert Kamphuis, interim CEO, OIHN.  “Our extended goal is to develop sites throughout the community where people can go for all of their wellness needs, including dental services.”

OIHN welcomes people who have private insurance, as well as Medicaid, Medicare, and Veterans health care.  Service also is available to non-insured individuals and families.  

Using an integrated healthcare approach, OIHN coordinates all health-related services for patients, including mental health and dental services. This approach ensures patients receive the care they need, in the most appropriate setting, and from a team focused on managing their care over the long term.

Starting July 10, a team of family medicine physicians led by Dr. Nikhil Hemady, OIHN Medical Director and a board-certified family practice physician, will see patients on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.  To make an appointment, call 248-724-7600.  Walk-in appointments are also available. The office is located at 114 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, between Woodward Ave. and Bagley St. 

The new site welcomes all patients.  Patients do not have to be clients of Oakland Family Services, and they do not need to be Oakland County residents.

In addition to the new site at Oakland Family Services, OIHN operates another site at 461 W. Huron, in Pontiac, near Doctor’s Hospital of Michigan, and offers dental services at the Joslyn Smile Center located at 816 Joslyn Ave. in Pontiac.

OIHN has applied to the federal government for Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) look-alike approval.  This FQHC status will bring in additional funding and resources, allowing even more access to expert health care for people who historically fail to receive adequate care.  Currently, there is only one other FQHC based in Pontiac.
