The Captain Scores the Hat Trick as Bloomfield Chargers Defeat Royal Oak!

In a game played on Wednesday at Lindell Memorial Arena in Royal Oak, the Bloomfield United Chargers defeated the Royal Oak Ravens by a score of 3-2.  The Chargers Captain Chase Smith scored all three goals as he registered his first hat trick of the 2012-2013 season.  Smith scored his first two goals on clean breakaways, and got the game winner un-assisted with just :16 to play in the third period.  The assist on the first goal went to Andrew Scettecerri, and  Assistant Captain Kevin Barnett and Scettecerri got the assists on Smith’s second goal.

Royal Oak got on the board early in the second period with a goal from Kevin Trumble at the 16:21 mark.  He was assisted by Patrick Boucard and Mathieu Bashi.  Royal Oak took the lead at 12:08 of the third with a goal from Evan Fall and an assist from Quinn Fall.

Nick Dingwall stopped 27 shots and got the win in goal for the Chargers.

After the game Chargers Head Coach Bruce McAlister said “We skated very well in the 1st period.  It was disappointing to go down 2-1 in the second, but the team never gave up and fought hard for the comeback win.” McAlister continued, “It’s great to see Chase Smith taking a strong leadership role on this fairly young team.”

The Chargers record is now 4-1-1.  Their next game is this Friday in Berkley at 7:00 against The Bears.
