For more than a week, voracious Bloomfield Patch readers ate up the poll asking who should fulfill the recently-sold movie rights to the racy trilogy Fifty Shades of Grey that has swept the nation into a frenzy.
As of Monday morning, Alexander Skarsgard and Lily Collins led our group of paired current movie stars rumored to be candidates for the lead roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, with 29 percent of the vote. Colin Egglesfield and Amanda Seyfried were next at 25 percent.
More than 23 percent of voters preferred currently unknown actors, and 20 percent said they didn't like any of the selections and many came up with their own. Among the leading write-in candidates were Henry Cavill and Ian Somerholder for Grey, and Katharine McPhee as Steele.
"Henry Cavill is the man to play Christian Grey — sexy as hell and would be able to portray Christian perfectly," wrote Patch reader Martha in the comments section.

They need to get the actors spot on for this to be a success and clearly expose the sexual side as explicitly as it appears in the novels. I can't wait for the movies

I agree Tracy. They can't just be hot, they have to be exceptional actors too! Right now the only person I can see pulling off Ana would be Mila Kunis. She is such an amazing actress! Anyone else would come off as cheesy! I love Ian's looks for Christian, but I am not convinced he could pull of fifty.

Armie Hammer is my Christian although I agree with the above comment about unknown actors, these books are far too intense for me to relate to one of the characters from a tv series.

Alex (swedes) and Christian Bale are too old ... Alex, if not old, doesn't fits the image ..his looks are similar to Ryan G. (not bad looking but not really super hot and charming) .. Ian .. he has the arrogant feel ... but i don't like him .. Armie H. ... dorky. .. not really arrogant sexy ... Chris H. is kind of old as well .. not a good looker if you looked at his face but on a whole he's not bad looking .. Chris Pine .. doesn't fit the image as well .. on a whole, he's not bad looking ..but if you look at his face ... it's so so ..
I like Lily Collins as one of the choices for the female lead ..

Ryan Phillippe! He's got the perfect body, pants hang just right....imagine him in those dominate cut-up demin jeans. He's got the tostled hair. Mysterious smirk. He has already proven he can play a personality that is internatally dark but yet seems to portray a compassionate side to get what he wants (Cruel Intentions.) If not Ryan Phillippe....then an unknown actor would be better.

but..... having just watched a fan made video on You Tube with Jared and Kirsten Stewart....WOW!!! Even though it isnt them in the video and you just see clips of their faces, they soooo work as Christian and Ana!!!

Colin Egglesfield is 6ft, killer body, grey piercing eyes ( & he could use a little bad boy image / playroom time)
Alison Brie ( could definitely use a bad girl role ) she's only 5'3 , has the blue eyes , & a tad naïveté to her. She would repeatedly defy Collin's Christian character.
I hope this movie gets an NC-17 rating. We're not for Oscars people-- we're going for some erotica
