Best Place to Spend St. Patrick's Day in Bloomfield?: You Chose the Moose Preserve

Throughout the week, we've asked what's the best place to celebrate St. Patrick's Day while in Bloomfield, and added a poll for good measure.
The vote was close most of the week, but, ultimately, The Moose Preserve was our readers' choice by earning 53 percent of the vote. The Rusty Bucket, which opened in Bloomfield Township in December, received 33 percent of the vote, good enough for second place.
Hogan's Restaurant, and nearby Beau Jack's Food & Spirits in Bloomfield Township also received votes.
Lisa O'Shea, general manager of the Moose Preserve, said the tavern has been a regular favorite for the St. Patty's Day crowd since opening in 1990 because of the atmosphere and special menu.
Starting today, patrons can indulge in a special cabbage and corned beef entree, McCaffrey's Irish Stew with lamb, a stacked corned beef sandwich, Shepherd's Pie, a Fish Fry Mac and Cheese and some Leprechaun Skins. In addition to their famous chocolate chip cookies, the restaurant offers warm oatmeal-raisin cookies all weekend. And don't forget to wash it down with a pint of green beer, O'Shea added.
"It's just a fun place to be and offers something different and special because it's St. Patrick's Day," she said.
There were no reviews attached with the poll, but reader Mary Callaghan Lynch, told everyone where she'd be Saturday night: "At the free Patricktide concert held at Holy Name!," she wrote.
