Bloomfield Hills in the Crossfire in New Anti-Romney Ad
The MoveOn.org liberal PAC debuts a new mini-documentary titled "The Man From Bloomfield Hills" Today.
With all the attention GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney is sure to get following tonight's capstone speech at the 2012 Republican National Convention, his Democratic opponents and their surrogates are not sitting idly by.
And Bloomfield Hills, where Romney grew up and attended Cranbrook, appears to be in the crosshairs. MoveOn.org, the liberal political policy and political action committee, is about to unveil a mini-documentary about President Obama's opponent in November titled "The Man From Bloomfield Hills." According to the group's Facebook page, the online 'cinematic event' requires registration and will showcase Romney's roots and tell the "true story."
The movie trailer — posted to YouTube.com on Aug. 27 and just short of 40,000 views Thursday afternoon — takes predictable shots at Bloomfield's gated communities, exclusive golf courses and priveleged schools.
Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for the latest updates, and come back to Bloomfield-Bloomfield Hills Patch for more coverage of the election.

Its getting rather pathtic how far the "radical" left feels it needs to go to try and demonzie Romney. More distraction from speaking on the points of what this country needs and less substance about the Obama record.

I agree. Talk about self-parody.
I'm not a Romney supporter, but think "the man from Bloomfield Hills" actually has at least somewhat of "an inspiring story." His deep faith, foreign mission service, generosity to his church, close-knit family and 43-year marriage to a woman he knows since elementary school are beyond politics . . . or ridicule.
As for the script ("fleets of servants"), the less said the better. I get that it's parody, but the trailer makes me wonder how many cliched cheap shots are in the complete version. Full of it too, I bet.

There is no question that GM rescue is viewed as a major achievement of Barack Obama. The end of the story has not been told yet. You, Americans, invested 70 billion dollars in a company. Any business would have succeeded with such infusion of money, most of which used to support UAW. Why should they not support Obama who padded their pension plans? In order for US to recoup the money the stock of GM which is now about $21 needs to be at $53, mission impossible! The Volt is a failure and many cars are sold to US government where the profit is low....The money poured into GM is not different from the money given to Solyndra....What is also forgotten is the fact that millions of Americans who owned GM stocks lost them when US government took over and they were never compensated, as UAW was, for billions of lost GM stock. Yes, a controlled bankrupcy as Romney suggested was an option which should have been considered. Yes, Ford did manage money better than GM and Chrysler actually did not need the money which was already returned to US. As always, we have to talk about issues. Republicans do not hate Democrats but they are disgusted with an amature president who leads the country in the wrong direction. As an independent the choice is clear. Romney may be a nerd, but we need him, a boring professional with no skeletons in his closet, to run the biggest company in the world, America.

What really bother's me is how wrong it is. I grew up here. My parents moved to Bloomfield in 1962. they sit outside at dusk and listen to the Cows moo where the library is. Lone Pine was a dirt road, Wabeek was a prairie, telegraph was 3 lanes. The pics depicted in this movie are modern day. That is not how Romney nor I grew up. If I am not mistaken the house he grew up in, at Lahser and Vaughn road was torn down years and years ago. Only recently was anything rebuilt there. Never let it be said that Moveon.org has ever allowed the facts to get into the way.

I agree with you R. My family moved into the community in 1961 and it was a very very different place back then.

Never let satire get in the way, Gibson. Wasn't that what Eastwood's demented, and I mean demented, skit was all about?

My parnts bought an unfinished ranch home in 1954 in a swamp at Long Lake and Telegraph. My school bus went through the Romney's neighborhood. They did not live in splendor nor did they employ staff....we were all just average families who worked hard, went to Church, paid the bills and helped their neighbors. Non of us were wealthy.Again Moveon.org have lied.I'm not surprized.

If individuals like Mitt Romney can not run for President without people assailing their character, God help us. Were last night's presentations made-for-TV? Sure, but the stories were compelling. Say what you want about his policies, but attack his character? Nobody is perfect, but what a truly good and decent person.

Decent? Never met him, don't know. What I do know is he and his running mate are trying to run a stealth campaign, totally devoid of details and unconstrained by the truth.
Yes, God help us, for due to the Republican leaning SCOTUS, decent men and women have to run for office with the knowledge that people with deep pockets can anonymously drop so much money on you that you never had a chance. That's how Romney, the candidate that the Tea Party hated and conservatives felt would be a loser, squashed his primary competition. (He may suffer from bad karma after treating Ron Paul and his supporters the way he did.)
Yes, with offices from President to dog catcher potentially going to the highest bidder, our democracy is sliding faster and faster into a plutocracy and our economy into feudalism.
Stop the slide. Choose the side that thinks unfettered money in political campaigns is wrong. Obama/Biden 2012

Mitt Romney was born in Harper hospital in Detroit and Ann Romney at Henry Ford Hospital. These are facts. Moveon.org never showed us any of college, university records of Mr. Obama, neither did they publish transcript Michell Obama PhD thesis from Princeton which is considered by many to be racist. These are more important than authentic views of Romney's house. All similar Kindergarten, elementary school, college, university transcripts of the Romneys are on line. Mr. Romney did concomitant JD and MBA at Harvard university something that only 15 people succeeded to do. Yes, Mitt Romney is boring because he has no skeletons in his closet. He never smoked, consumed alcohol, tried cocaine, pot. and alike and has a solid family. Boring. Regarding education see http://youtu.be/hL6cCaTUYeg

"Mitt Romney is boring because he has no skeletons in his closet."
How do you know one way or another? Have you been in his closet? I don't think anyone wants to do that - he has so many.
I'd settle for him to reveal as much financial information as President Obama has - all the way back to 2000.
Oh, and why didn't Clint know Romney also has a law degree? Oh yeah, he was winging and besides, the Liars Campaign that Romney/Ryan are running is totally unconstrained by facts or reality.

BTW, I don't believe that the Romneys were born in Detroit. Why doesn't Willard talk about his Mexican father, George? What's he hiding?

In the very least...Romney has "ties, records, transcripts, degrees, 1 lifelong soul-mate, a beautiful family, stong community ties- whereever he's lived, "a strong Faith" - which is inspiring, oh and well...he has had many jobs, started his own businesses, helped "THOUSANDS" begin... improve... or find investors for their own businesses...and... Obama has done what ???
