Bloomfield Township Library Board Accepting Applications
The deadline to apply for the spot vacated by Trustee Joseph Falik is Jan. 31.
Officials with the Bloomfield Township Public Library are looking for candidates to fill a vacancy on its board of trustees.
Board Trustee Joseph Falik announced his resignation in December after more than just a year in the position.
“It has been an honor and pleasure to work with the Trustees, Library Director Karen Kotulis-Carter and library staff. I commend my fellow Trustees for giving their time for public service. It has been wonderful to work with each and every one of them,” Falik said in parting remarks posted on the library's website.
Falik joined the board in August, 2011 following a similar application process to replace trustee Lyle Dahlberg, who resigned that May. The opening drew eight candidates that participated in interviews.
In a statement on its website, the library staff thanked Falik for his contributions working on the Development Committee, the Jeanette P. Myers Scholarship Committee and the Landscape/Interiors Committee and Policy Committee.
A Library Trustee recognizes the importance of the Library in the community and oversees the funding of all aspects of library services including traditional media and computer technologies. Trustees attend monthly meetings held on Tuesdays of each month at 7:00pm. Each Trustee serves on several committees and is encouraged to be an active participant in Library activities.
Applications for the position are now available at the Library and will be accepted through Jan. 31. The board intends to fill the position by April 1.
Applicants must be a Bloomfield Township resident. For more information about this position and the application procedure, please contact Library Director Karen Kotulis-Carter at (248) 642-5800.
