Bloomfield Trader Joe's To Open Doors Jan. 15
The much-anticipated opening in Bloomfield Plaza is just a week away.
The countdown for the opening of the new Trader Joe's in Bloomfield Township is under way. The doors to the fully-refurbished store inside part of the former Kroger location in Bloomfield Plaza open Tuesday, Jan. 15 at 8 a.m.
A spokesperson with the California-based company promised no major gimmicks or frills with the grand opening. But customers will have access to all the products and sales values they've experienced at the Farmington Hills location, which will close this month, officials said in a written statement.
Staff and local officials will officially open the doors with ceremonial "lei cutting" to keep with the company's tropical theme at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
The company initially planned to open last month, but decided to keep the Farmington Hills stor open through the holiday season, according to a sign posted outside the new location.
The new store hours will be 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

This TRADER JOE'S location is on the Monday, Jan. 14 AGENDA of the Township Board of Trustees seeking a retail sales liquor license. I would think this is a main reason the store did not open in 2012 as originally intended. The agenda item should receive approval Monday night...thus the grand opening on Tuesday, Jan. 15. The 8 am tropical themed "lei cutting" on Tuesday will be performed in very cold weather. Dress warmly and enjoy shopping at the new business in Bl. Twp.

I live in Troy and went to the Farmington Hills location on my lunch hour from work. Can't go that far now. Sorry to see this happen. When are you going to put a Trader Joe's in Troy? You are way overdo and there are plenty of locations for one!
