Feature Photos: Bloomfield Township Firefighters Complete Probation Periods
Ceremony at Bloomfield Township Hall honored veteran and rookie firefighters.
Yesterday we showed you Bloomfield Township firefighters in action rescuing an injured person from a crash. Today we'll feature photographs submitted from Patch readers of members of the Bloomfield Township Fire Department from earlier in the week.
These photos were taken at last week's Bloomfield Township Board of Trustees meeting, where Both Lt. Mark LaBelle and Firefighter Cory VanHeck were honored for completing probationary periods for their respective positions.
VanHeck, the younger brother of BTFD Lt. Alan VanHeck, completed his first-year probation period after he was hired to replace a retiring member of the department.
"I'm extremely happy to be here because this is where I wanted to be," he said.
LaBelle, 27-year veteran of the department, started his probationary period six months ago to fill an officer's vacancy.
Following the ceremony, each received their permanent badge and helmet.
