Finalists for Bloomfield Hills High School Logo Design Chosen

Voting is under way for the new school logo through April 9.

Students between the 5th and 10th grades in the Bloomfield Hills Schools are currently voting for the mascot design of the new Bloomfield Hills High School.

The mascot adjudication committee, which was supervised by the Andover and Lahser high school art departments, evaluated all the entries submitted by last week's deadline and narrowed the field to three finalists, unveiled late last week. The designs accompany this story.

District officials said students were excited to be part of the process and that the committee believes the design candidates reflect the spirit of the new unified high school, set to open on the current Andover and Lahser campuses in the fall of 2013.

They will vote through the district's internal Internet-based communication system through 3 p.m. on April 9. The winning artist(s) will receive Spirit Wear incorporating their design, and have a commemorative plaque outlining their contribution to the school's new identity at Bloomfield Hills High School.

Students selected the new school's colors and mascot name in a similar voting process in February. The winner will be announced when students return from spring break.

I love all the new logos! It is exciting to see such talent among our district's students. My 6th grader was excited to be able to vote.

I agree that the legacy of Andover and Lahser should be preserved, but not in the logo of the Bloomfield Hills Black Hawks. It is my understanding that there are plans to honor the accomplishments of both high schools in the high school design. No doubt the students of the Bloomfield Hills Black Hawks will create their own legacy just like the students back in 1967 did when the original Bloomfield Hills High School became Andover and Lahser.

They help to project a unique image of your company. Many big companies are reaping the benefits of these trademarks. People remember them mainly for their attractive and eye catching logos.
