DTE Energy reports that the power outages that affected Bloomfield area residents last night worsened with a second round of powerful storms early this morning.

Currently, nearly 1,500 in the 48302 zip code are without power, and many more are affected just beyond Bloomfield's borders in West Bloomfield, Birmingham and Troy. Roughly 140,000 customers in the Metro Detroit area are reportedly without power this morning.

The largest areas impacted in Bloomfield Township appear to be west of Telegraph Road between Lone Pine and Maple roads, and Lone Pine and Hickory Grove roads. In Bloomfield Hills, the power is out in the area east of Woodward Avenue near Long Lake, according to the DTE Outage Map.
