Seniors Prove They Are Just As Smart As These Fifth Graders
A local elementary school has a spelling bee with a twist: they partner up with residents of American House Senior Living Community.
How do you spell c-o-o-p-e-r-a-t-i-o-n?
A group of fifth graders from Avondale Schools' Auburn Elementary paired up with residents of American House Senior Living Community recently for an exercise in just that.
It was a joint spelling bee, and instaed of pairing the two groups against one another, organizers put them together on teams: each senior had a fifth-grader to ask for help during the event, and the seniors were able to provide some advice to their partners, too.
This was the first partnership between American House and the school. About 20 seniors took a bus from their residences to the school for the afternoon.

What a great example of Seniors & students helping each other and beautifully partnering together. We need to see more scenarios like this in our community!
