Last May, Bloomfield-Bloomfield Hills Patch readers voted Tanfaster as Reader's Choice for best local tanning salon. But it appears that loyal customers weren't enough to keep the spot in the Village Knoll at Maple and Lahser roads from closing late last year.

Nestled between Ember's Deli and the Bloomfield Sports Shop, this spot draws foot traffic in the heart of the Bloomfield Township, and offers customers ready access to a grocer (Kroger), a coffee shop (Starbucks), and several affordable meal options.

Bloomfield Patch wants to know: What's your vision for this property?

You don't need to be a commercial developer or city planner — or have money to invest in a business project — to have the next great idea. We just want to hear about it. Please leave your ideas in the comments section below.

This is part of an occasional series; we're excited to hear about your ideas for vacant spaces around town.

I would love to see Kinko's type operation, or perhaps a fresh sandwich place like Jersey Mike's or Jimmy John's.

Thanks Mary Sue. Good ideas, though the folks at Ember's might take issue!

How about a small, neighboorhood pub, to be a gathering place for locals.
