DESCRIPTION:After a two year hiatus\, The Bloomfield Hills Public Safety 
 will resume its annual family- friendly open house from 12-3p.m. Saturda
 y\, Sept. 8.\nThere will be plenty of hands on safety awareness activiti
 es for children and adults to participate. Attendees will learn how to p
 roperly operate a fire extinguisher and how to execute an escape plan in
  the event of a fire emergency. Attendees will also be able to meet thei
 r Public Safety officers in a casual setting. Several interactive demons
 trations are planned. Tours of the Public Safety Department will also be
  offered.\nSponsors of this event include: The Northern Trust Company\, 
 Templeton Building Company\, Hubbell\, Roth &amp\; Clark\, Secrest &ndas
 h\; Wardle\, LSL Planning and McKenna Associates. The Baldwin Public Lib
 rary will also have volunteers available to help Bloomfield Hills&rsquo\
 ; residents sign up for library cards.
