Local Art Studio Pairs Up With Local Author And Father For Creative Pre-Father’s Day Outing

Creative Arts Studio and Darrin Millar, combine story-telling and pottery painting to honor dads

Royal Oak, MI – This Saturday, June 2nd from 10-11am, the Creative Arts Studio of Royal Oak will host a special “Daddy & Me” event. Local author and father Darrin Millar will read his debut children’s book “Daddy Can You?” and children will create a personalized ceramic office mug for their own daddies.

Darrin, a local elementary school teacher of 19 years, is the father of two young daughters who he uses as the inspiration for his book. In “Daddy Can you?” (ISBN 1452807345), he touches on themes of love, parenting and the special bond between a father and his daughters chronicling childhood adventures like coaching a soccer team, fishing and even letting his daughters paint his toenails.

As part of the Creative Arts Studio’s Saturday morning “Mommy and Me” class series, this event offers an opportunity for Daddy’s and their young artists to come out for a special outing or for Mommy’s and their young artists to create a personalized surprise for Father’s Day. The class is designed for young artists ages 2-6 but all ages are welcome!
