2013 Annual Corn Roast Sunday, August 11 from 4-7 p.m. at the Charles L. Bowers School Farm, 1219 East Square Lake Road (between Adams and Squirrel), Bloomfield Hills, MI 48304.

2013 Corn Roast at Charles L. Bowers School Farm hosted by Friends of Preservation Bloomfield.  An annual event, featuring Isaias "The Corn Guy" Uribe's famous roasted corn on the cob (sold every Sunday at the Birmingham Farmer's Market),  and the ubiquitous blue "Franks Etc." truck, known for serving some of the best hot dogs in Michigan.  Live entertainment, face painting, open barn, hay rides, and and an on-site photographer to instantly record good times.  Rich Wieske of "Green Toe Gardens" will be bringing a good supply of local and Michigan honeys and beeswax candles to sell, along with pollen, propolis, bee bread, venom ointment and more.  Also, for the first time, the historic Barton Farmhouse will be open to the public during this event, with an antiques and vintage sale to complement the Corn Roast.  All proceeds will benefit the 1832 Barton Farmhouse and Craig Log Cabin.  Tickets are $20/adult, $5/kids under 12, and kids under 2 are free.  For reservations or more information, call Pam Williams at 248.705.8025.
