Community Update

Nominations are due July 31,2014 for the Birmingham/Bloomfield Cultural Arts Award. Jointly sponsored by The Community House, the

Observer and Eccentric Newspapers, the Birmingham/Bloomfield Art Center (BBAC) and the Cultural Council of Birmingham/Bloomfield. The public is invited to nominate anyone who has been influential in furthering the arts in the communities of Birmingham, Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township and Franklin.

A jury of more than a dozen arts enthusiasts from the community will select the winner on the basis of the nominations. Link Wachler, the jewelry designer of Life Links, will again create the award which will be presented to the honoree at a reception at the BBAC on October 10 at the BBAC. The honorees’ names will also be inscribed on a perpetual Cultural Arts Award plaque at Birmingham City Hall
