Free Tax, E-Filing Assistance in Bloomfield Township

Need help completing your tax forms or e-filing returns? Experts will be available to help at two events in Bloomfield Township this week.

 

Local experts in accounting, finance and tax preparation will be available to help citizens with low to moderate incomes file their taxes for free at two events at the Bloomfield Township Senior Services Center this week.

Free Tax Preparation and e-Filing I: Monday, Feb. 25 from 10:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

Free Tax Preparation and e-Filing II: Tuesday, Feb. 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

About a dozen volunteers will be available for consultations, with special attention provided to those 60 years of age and older. The program is organized by the AARP Foundation in cooperation with the IRS, said Bloomfield Hills Schools Board of Education Trustee Howard Baron, a retired executive with Chrysler who is among the volunteers. It is not limited to township residents.

Contact the senior center at 248-723-3500 for an appointment. Some walk-ins times will be available, but limited.
