What's Open, Closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Most schools, state and federal offices are closed for the day, but not everything.

It's Martin Luther King Jr. Day, where some local schools, municipalities and community centers pay homage to the civil rights champion by closing their doors and stopping regular activities. Others, however, stay open and often offer special programming to commemorate the man and what he stood for. See the list of MLK Day events occurring in and around the Bloomfield area today.

All state and federal offices are closed, including the U.S. Post Office at 2050 South Blvd. in Bloomfield Hills. Here's a brief list of what else is open and closed around town to help you plan your day.
