Did Olympic Ice Dancer Meryl Davis Find Redemption with Sultry Tango on ‘DWTS’?

It was Party Anthem Night on ABC’s hit reality show “Dancing with the Stars” and Michigan’s gold medal ice dancers, Meryl Davis and  Charlie White didn’t disappoint.

Davis, who slumped last week to No. 5 in the overall standings, turned in a perfect performance Monday in the eyes of “Dancing with the Stars” judges, staging a comeback that seemed to leave the judges breathless.

She and her professional dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy for their sultry tango, earning 10s across the board from judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba and guest judge Redfoo.

“That was full of attack and purpose,” Goodman praised. “Maks dances full-on; you are the first celebrity who is able to match him and keep up with him. This was special.”

“The women in black, stirring, in a spine-chilling, totally gripping film noir of a tango,” Tonioli purred. “Equally matched, equally pushed, the choreography is incredible.”

Inaba said she was “speechless,” then went on to add: “Meryl, from my heart thiere is something so magical between the two of you. It is truly artistic. You look like one of our pros.”

Redfoo concluded, “I say, ‘ET, phone him.’ That was out of this world. It was like you were gliding off across the solar system from star to star. It was super. I have never seen anything like that.”

White and his partner Sharna Burgess danced a cha-cha-cha, getting near-perfect marks – nines across the board for a composite score of 36.

Inaba gave White high marks for improving his hip action, which has been problematic. “I loved it,” she said. “You improved on your hip work so much. The way you made each move go into the next … was hot.”

“Hey man, I loved it,” Redfoo said. “There were so many styles. It made me want to dance.”

“Charlie, you have the most brilliant musicality,” Goodman praised. “It just oozes out like toothpaste.”

“This was my favorite dance,” Tonioli said. “The fact is that you captured it. You never last the cha-cha-cha. The style was spot on and there all the way through. This track is hell to dance to and you make it look easy.”

Drew Carey, host of “The Price is Right,” was eliminated, leaving seven couples in the hunt for the mirror ball trophy.
