When: 8-10 p.m., Oct. 14 - 29; 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23

Why Go: The award-winning farce is adapted from the original novel and Alfred Hitchcock's popular 1935 film. The local cast includes Alan Canning, of Bloomfield Township, who plays the hero, Richard Hannay, and Julie Spittle, of Troy, who plays the three women he has romantic entanglements with. Actors John Rutherford (Rochester Hills) and Jake Zinke (Canton), play every other character in the show, including heroes, villains, men, women, children and even the occasional inanimate object. They all comprise a show of more than 150 characters directed by Kathleen Lietz of Royal Oak.

The visual design was created by Leslie Ann Pilling, of Bloomfield Township, with construction by Tom Edson, of Bloomfield Hills, and properties master Paul Dorset, of Birmingham. Kathy Shapero and Roz Basherian, both from Bloomfield, created the costumes.

In the spirit of Halloween, St. Dunstan’s will host an Alfred Hitchcock costume contest during the Oct. 28 and 29 performances. Dress like your favorite Alfred Hitchcock character or even as Alfred Hitchcock himself and a prize will be given to the winner to be determined by applause at intermission.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for students and seniors. Group rates are available and can be reserved by calling 1-888-71-TICKETS or click here. Parking is available in front of the theatre or across the street at Christ Church Cranbrook.
