Get it for Less at Five Below
Finding discount merchandise in Bloomfield Township may get a little easier starting Friday with the grand opening of Five Below in the Bloomfield Town Square shopping center off of Telegraph Road north of Square Lake Road.
Beginning at 10 a.m., the store located at 2145 S. Telegraph Rd. will open its doors and offer name-brand merchandise for low prices ranging from $1 to $5. To celebrate the grand opening, the store will offer hot dogs for 5 cents, hold raffles for prizes, and will give away Five Below T-shirts to the first 300 customers. One lucky visitor will also get a $100 Five Below shopping spree.
The store offers roughly 7,200 square feet packed with eye-catching items ranging from seasonal beachwear to sporting equipment, and action figures to gag gifts. It is the national chain's eighth store in Michigan and will open simultaneously with another location at the West Oaks II shopping center in Novi. Company officials were not available to comment this week and prohibited local employees from commenting to media.
Construction at the location began in January and spurred a lot of interest from shoppers eager to get a peek inside, including several that thought the store was already open Thursday afternoon.
"I saw the one in Novi and when I heard about the one here I had to check it out because this is where I live," said Angela Karshe after opening the doors for a look. "I'm blown away and I'm definitely coming back tomorrow with my group of girls."
Regular store hours are from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, from from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. More information is available on the chain store's Website.
Nielsen Provides a Picture of Better Health
A few weeks ago, we reported on the following the store's move from Woodward Avenue. Now the staff is ready to formally show off the new 10,000 square-foot space at 2053 S. Telegraph Rd. by hosting their first program.
Health and fitness guru Peter Nielsen, host of the nationally syndicated Peter's Principles series, will be running a free seminar on how digestive health impacts overall health beginning at noon Saturday.
The seminar includes a discussion on food recommendations and Nielsen will then take questions about general or specific health issues. He will also be available for photos with fans and will sign autographs. Seating is limited but registration is still available online or by calling 248-334-9500.
"That's our soft opening, but this will be our premiere opening event," said Store Manager Shannon Curran, who is excited to offer this type of programming now that they have the space.
The store will be open for regular shopping as well for those that don't attend the free seminar. Regular store hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
