The Maple Theater

Bloomfield Township's landmark — and only — movie theater will help spread the love this Valentine's Day with showings of When Harry Met Sally and Giselle, the ballet love story in 3D. Best-picture nominee Amour is also showing during the day. Visit the theater's website for shows times.  

The Rusty Bucket

Can't get away with just that special someone on Valentine's Day? The staff at the Rusty Bucket in Bloomfield Township understands and is offering free meals for kids 10 and under during the day. Guests can also enjoy balloons, candy and a Cupid's Cup Kid beverage and more. Call ahead seating and gluten-friendly menus are available.

Buddy's Pizza

The local Reader's Choice winner for best pizza — Buddy's Pizza is teaming up with Hudsonville Ice Cream to share the love on Valentine's Day. A free scoop of of Grand Traverse Bay Cherry Fudge ice cream (creamy cherry ice cream with sweet chunks of cherries and thick fudge ripple) will be available to each of Buddy's guests who dine inside at Buddy's restaurants while supplies last. The free scoop will be available to guests in Detroit, Livonia, Auburn Hills, Dearborn and Warren as well.

Qdoba Mexican Grill

The chain of Mexican restaurants brought back it's 'Kiss Coupons Goodbye; Valentine's Day promotion on Thursday. Buy an entree and get another for free — all you have to do is kiss a fellow customer (preferably your valentine and not a stranger) at the cash register. No coupon is necessary.

"Last year Qdoba guests smooched their way to thousands of free entrees," said David Craven, Qdoba's DVP of marketing in a news release. "This year, we expect even more of our guest to turn up the heat this Valentine's Day and we look forward to rewarding them with a little love of our own."

Papa Romano's

favorite since 1987 — but with a big twist this year. One lucky customer that finds a specially-marked golden ticket on their Papa Romano's pizza box can redeem it for a handcrafted 1.25 carat diamond ring set in rose gold (estimated value is $7,400).

With such miscalculations on my part, I realize that the majority of the voters had so much more insight than I had........lol Maybe I should learn a lesson here - borrow money to keep the "life-style" I have become used to.
