At the Wednesday night meeting of the Birmingham Planning Board, Patti Owens of the Catalyst Development, Co. announced that a new restaurant called The Stand would be moving into the Greenleaf Trust Building’s soon-to-be empty first floor.

Ferndale Library to Use Collection Agency for Overdue Items
Beginning Jan. 28, any patron who has owed the library $20 or more for more than 60 days will be referred to Unique Management Services.

Michael Greening, 46, of Royal Oak, was sentenced Tuesday to two years of probation for taking funds from a Royal Oak High School student activities account.

Archdiocese Investigates Mishandled Funds at Troy Catholic Church
The Rev. Edward Belczak was asked to step down from the St. Thomas More Parish in Troy after an audit revealed he may have misappropriated $429,000 over six years.

West Bloomfield Native Gets First Nod at Sundance Film Festival
West Bloomfield native Stacie Passon is among the Michiganders whose works are being showcased during this year's Sundance Film Festival. Passon wrote and directed in "Concussion", which is one of 16 dramatic films chosen from 1,200 entries for the annual indie showcase that ends today in Park City, UT.
