Avondale School District hosts the “A Train” Show on Sunday, January 20, 2013, from 10 am–3 pm. The event, which attracted over 2,700 adults and 1,000 children in 2012, is the largest model train show in the state by attendance and boasts at least 385 tables filled with model trains and related railroad memorabilia. This is the second year the event will be housed at Avondale High School, 2800 Waukegan Street, Auburn Hills. Admission is $3 per person; children 12 and under are free. Refreshments will be sold in the cafeteria. New this year are train rides for the kids by Dan Dan the Choo Choo Man and the free presentation of feature movie, “Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends™ Blue Mountain Mystery,” shown in the Avondale High School Auditorium at 1 pm. Proceeds from the show will benefit the Avondale Education Foundation. For more information, contact Frank Lams at 248.537.6008 or Tim Pagel at 248.589.9028; or visit http://www.avondale.k12.mi.us.
