Second Annual Yogathon Deemed a Success

Bloomfield Township's Lynn Medow and other area yoga instructors raised $12,500 while celebrating their craft.

 

Organizers of the over the Labor Day holiday said this year's event was a success that raised $12,500 for instructors that practice healing yoga in Metro Detroit.

The two-day event drew 150 people to and three other yoga studios in Michigan, as well as two studios out of state, said Yoga By Design Foundation Founder

Last year's inaugural event, which was only for one day, raised drew 131 people to nine consecutive classes and raised $10,000. The funds went to three local groups for yoga classes to help autistic children, fight childhood obesity and individuals with Downs Syndrome.

and Acupuncture Healthcare Associates co-sponsored the event, which also included a 17-item silent auction that generated additional funds this year, Medow said.
