Spring Fling 2013 - Vintage Fashion Show, Boutique Shopping and Luncheon to benefit the Barton Farmhouse!

Spring Fling 2013, a fundraiser for the Barton Farmhouse Project, has been designed to provide an afternoon of fun and folly, with a vintage fashion show, boutique shopping with local vendors, and a nostalgic luncheon at the Radisson Kingsley Hotel in Bloomfield Hills, on Thursday, May 16.  Guests will enjoy a vintage fashion show presented by Rebecca L'Ecuyer, with live models showcasing some of the best and most interesting fashions of the 1930's - 1960's.  Other vintage apparel from the late 1800's/early 1900's will also be on display.  Fascinated by the fabrics, construction and history, L'Ecuyer, a former resident of Troy, began collecting vintage fashion items in the mid-1970's.  Her extensive collection includes an array of clothing, shoes, purses, jewelry, eye wear, hats and more.  L'Ecuyer has produced many special events with an emphasis on vintage fashion for FMC, the Troy Historical Society, the Detroit Art Deco Society, Cranbrook House, and others.  Approximately a dozen vendors will also display their wares at the event, and have donated a bevvy of wonderful raffle prizes. The original inspiration and artwork for the printed invitation for this event came from The Afterglow, a monthly magazine that highlighted the social and business lives of Bloomfield Hills residents in the 1920's.  A "history" display, and an antique sales table round out the event!
