Fiduciary Review report and Board of Trustees Meeting 2-13-12 @ 7PM

Township puts financial documents on website...in a "board packet" for the next meeting of the board: MON., Feb. 13 @ 7 PM. However, info will not be discussed. You need to figure it out.

Bloomfield Township has copied a lot of financial pages from the Feb. 9 study session meeting onto their website. I found it in the "board packet" for the next meeting.

Click board of trustees/then board packet/then 2012/ then Feb. 13.  It will come up as a pdf file. While you are at that site, read the minutes from the last meeting, and the one agenda item and the police report. I don't know how long the financial information will be on the website. When I reported the bills found on the web last week, the bills were immediately removed.

Mon., Feb. 13, Board of Trustees Meeting @ 7 p.m.

The agenda for this meeting is pathetic when you think about all that the township could be discussing with the residents. Here are some issues that deserve review:

  • 2012-2013 preliminary budget ....fiscal year begins April 1.
  • Public safety millage that expires in 2012, representing $8-9 million.
  • Tabled liquor license policy.
  • Explain and recap to the public the recent fiduciary review.
  • The impact of traffic around the "campus" and emergency services from central fire station ... IF Andover High School increases in size.

Even though the future board of trustee meeting of Feb. 13 lacks substance, if you are present at the meeting, you may have three minutes to speak to the board during the "public comment" agenda item.

I know I say: open and transparent.

I need to add:  Silence is not an option.

Please do read my other blog as it does contain more information on the township meeting of fiduciary review. Thank you.

After the 2/13/12 Board of Trustees meeting: The Board of Trustees approved April 21 for the "electronics, shredding & prescription drug collection" date. Also approved were the dates of April 21 & 22 for the "clean sweep" date. The clean sweep is a good opportunity for community service credits for school kids. Also a great time for subdivisions to clean up before spring is in full bloom. Watch township website and other sources for more info. Marcia Gershenson, District 17 Commissioner, spoke of several opportunities for contests and summer jobs. There are DEADLINES. See the archived audio/video minutes of the meeting on your computer for details. http://www.bloomfieldtwp.org/Services/cable/Videos/BoardOfTrusteeMeetings.htm Three other people spoke during public comment....including myself. The entire meeting took less than 30 minutes. It can also be viewed on Comcast Cable TV 15. Since the meeting was short....who knows what time it will be shown? Scheduled air dates for Bloomfield Township Air Date Start Time - End Time Monday 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM this was LIVE....2/13/12 Tuesday 2:30 PM - 5:00 PM Thursday 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM Friday 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM

Thanks for the update and good info. Marcia! You didn't tell us what you spoke about, but I'll understand if you don't want to ruin the suspense!

Why hasn't the Township posted the Board meeting of Mon., Feb. 13 on their website? The link to the audio/video taping of the 2/13 meeting is http://www.bloomfieldtwp.org/Services/cable/Videos/BoardOfTrusteeMeetings.htm Does the Township have a problem with posting this particular meeting video?
