Bloomfield Doctor Gets Two Years of Probation for Pill-Pushing

The doctor pleaded no- contest in April to distributing narcotics to people who didn't require them.

A Bloomfield Hills doctor received probation on charges of illegally distributing narcotics to at least three patients at his medical practice in Sylvan Lake.

Oakland Circuit Judge Michael Warren sentenced Mohammad Amin, 60, to  two years of probation on Thursday, the Oakland Press reported.

Amin had been charged with two counts of delivering or manufacturing controlled substances, and one count of substance license prescription violations.

He was previously charged with putting false information on medical charts. Amin pleaded no contest in April.

After receiving tips from Amin’s patients at his clinic, Healing Hands Urgent Care, the Oakland County Sheriff Office’s Narcotics Enforcement Team launched an undercover investigation that confirmed patients’ concerns.

Officers found that the doctor distributed narcotics three times without properly examining patients. They arrested Amin four months later.

Yelp testimonials paint Amin as a kind and caring man.

Amin can continue to practice medicine, but he will be monitored monthly and is only allowed to prescribe certain medicines, The Oakland Press said. Amin is also required to complete community service.
