Bloomfield Township Doctor Headed to Circuit Court on Drug Charges

Mohammad Amin, of the Healing Hands Urgent Care Center, is charged with drug delivery and violating his prescription license.

The case against a Bloomfield Township doctor arrested in a sting operation by undercover investigators with the Oakland County Sheriff's Department is moving forward.

Mohammad Amin, 59, on Monday waived his right to a preliminary hearing in 48th District Court and was bound over for trial before Oakland County Circuit Judge Michael Warren, records show.

Amin remains free on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear before Warren on Dec. 4 for a pre-trial hearing. He is charged with two felony counts of drug delivery, and one misdemeanor count of violating his prescription license.

Authorities accuse Amin, who established the Healing Hands Urgent Care facility in Sylvan Lake, of unnecessarily prescribing narcotics to undercover investigators on multiple occasions since June, authorities said. He was arraigned last month after simultaneous raids at the clinic and his home in the 3700 block of Wabeek Lake Drive East. Authorities seized multiple computers, iPads, tax documents and prescription pads during the searches.

Amin’s attorney, Doraid Elder did not return messages from Patch Tuesday.
