Bloomfield Township Issues Snow Emergency During Storm

Bloomfield Township residents need to remove all vehicles from the road or face penalties.

 

Authorities in Bloomfield Township issued a snow emergency effective at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday due to the onslaught of snow that covered the area for most of the afternoon and will continue into the night.

The official declaration means Bloomfield Township must move all vehicles from the streets and roads as soon as possible, and within six hours to avoid penalties. Those cars not removed after enforcement begins tonight are subject to impound, a news alert issued by the Bloomfield Township Police Department stated. The snow emergency is effective for all streets and roads in Bloomfield Township.

The Road Commission of Oakland County issued a word of caution on its Facebook page. 

"We're out salting with full contingent of trucks, but it's still messy on the roads. Please use caution and drive appropriately for the conditions," a post read Wednesday evening.

Earlier Wednesday, the National Weather Service . As much as 4-7 inches are expected to fall before the system tapers off late Wednesday night.
