Bloomfield Township Teen Stabs, Injures Father

Joseph Christian Najor, 17, faces assault charges for the attack at their home on Somerset Drive, Bloomfield Township police said.

 

A Bloomfield Township teenager remained in the Oakland County Jail Friday awaiting a preliminary hearing on assault charges for stabbing his father, records show. 

Joseph Christian Najor, 17, faces one count of assault with intent to cause great bodily harm and one count of felonious assault stemming from the incident Wednesday night in the 2100 block of Somerset. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.

Najor is in custody on $500,000 bond. 

Officers with the Bloomfield Township Police Department responded to the emergency room of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac where doctors treated a man with a stab wound to the back and lacerations to the head, reports said. Further updates about the 47-year-old man's condition were not available Friday.

Dispatchers told the officers the suspect was in a vehicle in the hospital parking lot, and they arrested him without incident while they began the investigation, reports said. 

Further details about the altercation were unavailable. A preliminary hearing is scheduled in 48th District Court next week.
