Burglary at MB Jewelry; Home Invasions in Bloomfield Township

The Bloomfield Township Police Department provided the following information.

Detectives with the Bloomfield Township Police Department are investigating a burglary at the MB Jewelry Design & Manufacturing.

Officers responded to an alarm at the store at 6600 Telegraph Rd. in Bloomfield Plaza at about 5 a.m. Dec. 6 and found the front glass door smashed out, reports said. No one was inside. 

Several display cases were smashed and emptied of expensive watches and rings. No suspect information was available. 

Home Invasions

Officers responded to a report of a home invasion in the 6000 block of Meadow Lake Drive on Dec. 15 and spoke with a man who was responsible for checking on the house while the homeowners were away, reports said. The man said he he found a door open when he arrived and discovered the house ransacked. The homeowners have since returned home and a total value of loss has yet to be determined. The case was forwarded to detectives.

Officers also responded to a residential security alarm in the 5000 Block of Winlane at about 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 9 and found fresh footprints in the snow surrounding the house. The officers followed the prints as they went from door to door and discovered that one of the doors was opened partially. No access was gained due to a security chain. There were no other reported home invasions in the area and the investigation is ongoing.
