Man Charged in Bloomfield Hills Home Invasions

Justin Darnell Mallory remains in custody on multiple counts of home invasion.

A man charged in a series of home invasions in Bloomfield Hills last week remains in the Oakland County Jail pending court hearings this week.

Justin Darnell Mallory, 21, faces a preliminary hearing at 48th District Court Thursday for multiple early-morning home invasions that led to a brief chase that ended in Lathrup Village. Authorities arraigned him last Thursday on three counts of home invasion-1st Degree and one count of unauthorized driving away an auto. He remained at the Oakland County Jail Wednesday on a $1 million bond, records show.

Officers with the Bloomfield Hills Department of Public Safety responded to a home in the area of Trowbridge and Kensington roads at about 2:30 a.m. Oct. 16 after the homeowner said someone was trying to force their way inside, Chief Dave Hendrickson said.

Shortly after the initial call police, learned someone forced their way into two other nearby homes, and stole several pieces of jewelry. The suspect also fled the scene in a car stolen from one of the garages, reports said. Authorities arrested him and recovered the stolen items after a short chase.

Police arrested two other men in the area of Squirrel and Watters roads that were believed to be involved, but they were released, Hendrickson said. The case remains under investigation.
