While their focus continues to be on identifying suspects that bound an elderly resident to her bed as they robbed her home, investigators with the Bloomfield Township Police Department said they are actively investigating nearly a half-dozen other recent home invasions.
The most recent incidents were reported last week, including one in the 400 block of South Fox Hills Drive on Aug. 19. Officers were called to the location at about 5:45 p.m. after two backpack leaf blowers were discovered missing from an open garage.
Police said they are also investigating extensive damage caused to an unoccupied home in the 4000 block of Country Club Lane. Neighbors called the department after noticing a broken window on Aug. 17. Once inside, officers discovered damaged furniture and graffiti spray painted on the walls. Further details were not made available. The damage is believed to have happened sometime between July 25 and Aug 17.
Other reported home invasions include:
- The theft of jewelry and cash from a home in the 1900 block of Lone Pine Road between 4-6 p.m. on Aug. 13. Officers found the front door was forced open, reports said.
- The theft of jewelry, cash, and a box of checks from a home in the 1300 block of South Carillon Street between 7-10 p.m. on Aug. 13. Investigators found a basement window was broken to gain entry.
Anyone with information on any of the incidents is encouraged to call the department’s investigations division at 248-433-7750.
The Bloomfield Hills Department of Public Safety is investigating the theft of a valuable music box from a home in the 1000 block of Orchard Ridge Road, reports said.
Officers responded to the home at about 9 a.m. on Aug. 17 and met with a realtor who said the music box, valued at about $1,5000 was missing and likely stolen from the unoccupied residence. It was last seen in the home on Aug. 14, reports said.
