Police Make Arrests in Retail Fraud, Marijuana Cases

The Bloomfield Township Police Department provided the following information. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction.

Liquor and cheese, please

A Bloomfield Township woman faces shoplifting charges from trying to steal liquor and cheese from Costco, reports said. 

Officers responded to a report of a retail fraud from Costco store security, who detained the woman during the afternoon of June 2. Police arrested Gaelle Gilles, 20, without incident, and released her on bond after booking. She will face a judge at a pending hearing in 48th District Court.The total value of items was placed at $45.

Can't fool the K-9

A 20-year-old Berkley man faces drug-related charges after his arrest during a traffic stop in the area of Square Lake Road and Woodward Avenue last week, reports said. 

A Bloomfield Township K-9 Officer conducted a traffic stop in that vicinity for speeding shortly after midnight and detected the odor of marijuana in the vehicle. The officer made used her K-9 partner and found marijuana, smoking pipes and a scale inside the vehicle. They arrested the driver, Tyler Ackerman, without incident and he was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Ackerman is free pending his court date in the 48th District Court.
