Shoplifters Target Tool Kits At Bloomfield Township Lowe's

The Bloomfield Township Police Department is looking for information that may help identify this couple suspected in multiple thefts from the same store.



Detectives with the Bloomfield Township Police Department are asking for the public’s help to try and identify a couple believed to be responsible for repeated retail fraud incidents at the Lowe’s on the township's north side.

Employees at Lowe's contacted police this week after discovering a pattern involving both suspects, officials said.

The first incident occurred on Dec. 20 when a man entered the store and placed four DeWalt combo tool kits in his cart and walked out without paying, according to reports. The items were valued collectively at about at $1,500.

On Jan. 7, the same man reportedly entered the store with a woman during the evening hours and then separated once inside, reports said. The woman walked to the tool section and picked up another DeWalt Combo Kit priced at $579 and left the store without paying.

Only one kit was taken during the incident.

The man is described as white and in his 50’s. he stood about 5’8”, was about 185 pounds, and had short brown hair, reports said. He also puts on sunglasses when he enters the store.

The woman is described as white and in her 40’s, approximately 5’7”, and 160 pounds. she had brown hair in a bun and also wore sunglasses. The vehicle they used is believed to be a red Pontiac Grand Am.
