Sinful Crime Outside Church Leaves Dog Owner Alone and Worried

While Carl Baecker was attending a meeting inside the Birmingham Unitarian Church, someone in the parking lot was stealing his dogs from an unlocked car.

Carl Baecker was doing God’s work a week ago at a church in Bloomfield Hills, but when he got in his car to leave, he found the devil had been busy.

Little Girl and Willy, two rescue dogs that have been his companions since he retired and survived cancer a decade ago, were missing from his car. He told WJBK, Channel 2, that he’s attended meeting at the Birmingham Unitarian Church for about three years and never had a problem.

Baecker, 67, said he has posted pictures of Little Girl, a havanese, and Willy, a shnorkie, on Facebook; reached out to the Humane Society; and looked elsewhere for his pets.
