Unsecured Vehicle, Garage Targeted in Bloomfield Township

The Bloomfield Township Police Department provided the following information.

Investigators with the Bloomfield Township Police Department again warned residents to remove valuables from their vehicles and lock them at all times after multiple reports of vehicle break-ins last week.

Officers responded to the 3400 Block of Devon Brook on Oct. 28 and 29 after two victims reported that someone had entered their vehicles during the night.  Both vehicles were ransacked and purses, duffle bags and other personal items were stolen, reports said. Both vehicles were left unlocked, and no suspect information was available.

A resident in the 700 Block of Weybridge told police someone stole golf clubs, golf shoes and other golf equipment from the garage overnight between Oct. 26th and Oct 27, reports said. The garage door was left open overnight and  investigators are attempting to identify a suspect, though no information was available.

A resident in the 3700 Block of S. Darlington reported his 2013 Lincoln MKS was stolen from his home overnight between Oct. 27 and 28, reports said. Officers entered the vehicle information into the Law Enforcement Information Network and detectives are following up in the case.

Last month, the department warned residents to park vehicles in garages and take valuables indoors after a rash of vehicle break-ins reported on Lancaster and surrounding streets on Oct. 15. All nine vehicles were unlocked and ransacked sometime between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m., reports said.
