Multiple vehicle break-ins, thefts

Bloomfield Township police urge residents to keep their vehicles locked and to take their valuables indoors even when parked on residential property after a rash of vehicle break-ins earlier this week.

Officers responded to the multiple residences off Dell Rose Drive, Kemp Street, and East Hammond Lake Road on Monday for auto larceny reports. Each vehicle was parked in a driveway on private property when their windows were smashed to gain entry, reports said. Items stolen include four laptops, three GPS units, i-Pods, an i-Pad, several credit cards, wallets and clothing. All the items were left in plain view, making them easy targets for thieves, police said.
