Wheels Targeted by Thieves; Purse Stolen at Bloomfield Township Starbucks

The Bloomfield Township Police Department provided the following information. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction.



A resident in the Adams Woods Condo Complex told officers with the Bloomfield Township Police Department that someone tried to steal the wheels off her vehicle while it was parked outside her home last week, reports said. The victim said she parked her car in the 1000 Block of Forest Glen on the evening on Oct. 16, and the next day she noticed that someone unscrewed the light bulbs in the outdoor lights near her car. 

On Oct. 18, a neighbor told the woman that the lug nuts on the vehicle were missing. Investigators said they believe the suspect or suspect were trying to steal the wheels and were scared off for some reason. No suspect information was available and the investigation is ongoing. 

Vehicle Stolen

A resident in the 1000 Block of Greentree told police that her 2013 Mazda CX9 was stolen sometime between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. on Oct. 23, reports said. Officers did not find signs of forced entry where the vehicle was parked. They entered the vehicle into the Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) as stolen and the investigation is ongoing. No suspect information was available.

Purse Snatched

A customer at the Starbucks at 3584 Maple Rd. told police someone stole her purse while she sat in the coffee shop on Oct. 23, reports said. The victim said it happened sometime between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. The purse contained several credit cards and an undisclosed amount of cash. Detectives are attempting to identify a suspect, but no descriptions were available.
