5 Things You Should Know This Week, Politically Speaking

The Bloomfield Township Board, the Bloomfield Hills City Commission and the Bloomfield Hills School Board are all scheduled to meet this week.

1. The Bloomfield Township Board of Trustees meets at 7 p.m. Monday at Township Hall. The board will consider funding a tri-party agreement with the Road Commission for Oakland County and the city of Beverly Hills to help make improvements to Lahser Road prior to 2015. Trustees also will review a liquor license transfer application for Hogan's Restaurant, a bid for signs on the North Telegraph Gateway Sign Project and a traffic control order.

2. The Bloomfield Hills City Commission will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at . Among the items on the agenda are a resolution regarding the millage for library services with the Baldwin Public Library; adoption of a fence and/or gate ordinance; and an amendment to the planned unit development agreement for The Plaza of Bloomfield Hills.

3. The Bloomfield Hills City Planning Commission meeting scheduled for 4 p.m. Tuesday has been canceled due to lack of agenda items.

4. The Oakland County Election Commission will meet at 3 p.m. Thursday in Oakland County Probate Court to review the petition language submitted by residents who want to recall the remaining members of the Bloomfield Hills Schools Board of Education. Petitions aimed to unseat Trustees Mark Bank, Jacqueline El-Sayed and Robert Herner were filed last month by the Bloomfield 20/20 citizens group. Recall petitions for board President Ingrid Day, Vice President Ed Ford, Secretary Kate Pettersen and Treasurer Cynthia von Oeyen have already been approved.

5. The Bloomfield Hills Schools Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Doyle Center for Professional Development at Booth School, 7273 Wing Lake Rd. No agenda was officially posted by Monday morning, but Superintendent Rob Glass said he will propose Phase 2 of the district's strategic plan to the board. Further details were not immediately available. Meetings are televised and streamed live on the Web.
