Applicants Sought for Bloomfield Hills Commission Seat

The city of Bloomfield Hills will take applications for Mike McCready's commissioner's spot until Dec. 6.

Know anyone qualified to join the Bloomfield Hills City Commission? Applications for the spot opening up early next year are due by Dec. 6.

The five-member commission discussed the process to replace outgoing commissioner Mike McCready — who's headed to the State House of Representatives — at their most recent meeting last week. McCready's won re-election to the commission last year, and his term won't expire until November 2013. He said last week that he did not intend to resign ehile preparing for this transition to Lansing.

City residents of Bloomfield Hills must meet the following qualifications to be eligible:

  • Registered Voter in the City of Bloomfield Hills.
  • Resident of the City of Bloomfield Hills for at least one year prior to taking office.

Resume's and cover letters are due at the City Clerk's office by 4 p.m., Dec. 6. The commission is expected to appoint McCready's successor by Jan. 14.
