On the Agenda: Commissioners to Discuss Library Agreement, Water Rates

Bloomfield Hills City Commission to meet tonight at 7:30 p.m.

The Bloomfield Hills City Commission on Tuesday will consider a tentative agreement with the Baldwin Public Library on a three-year deal for service, officials said.

Negotiators from both entities reached the agreement at their meeting Tuesday, ending roughly six moths of talks. The tentative pact is worth $268,681 for the first year and will increase in each of the following years by 5 percent or the rate of inflation, whichever is less.

If approved, officials said a formal contract would be signed no later than August to prepare for a fall millage campaign.

Also on the agenda:

  • The approval of water & sewer rates to be billed for actual consumption beginning July 1.
  • A proposed zoning ordinance amendment pertaining to notices for public hearings.
  • Consideration of planned unit development agreements for The Woodward at Bloomfield Hills and the Plaza of Bloomfield Hills.
